Even the best laid plans . . .
A couple things to consider when booking Santa:
1. Santa can only control the weather on Christmas Eve. Weather, medical reasons, traffic or mechanical issues may make it impossible for Santa to visit. If Santa has to cancel, you will receive a full refund. If we agree that the weather is insurmountable (most likely only for mountain communities), you will receive a full refund. If you cancel for any other reason (within 24 hours), you will be billed for 1/2 of the visit (lost potential) unless I can replace it with another event. GREAT IDEA: For home visits, school parties, or such, don't tell the children that Santa will be visiting. It adds a great surprise when Santa arrives, but protects against sad faces if the worst happens and Santa is unable to attend.
2. If you are unhappy with my appearance or performance, I will negotiate in fair faith to return part or all of your fee depending on when the issue is brought up. Discretion in discussing any issues is always appreciated, keeping in mind children might be present.
3. SANTA IS NOT A BABYSITTER. For safety and for propriety, a RESPONSIBLE ADULT must be present at all times during Santa's visit. That person should be ready to assist the children on/off Santa's lap and be ready to assist Santa in/out of the visiting area and with photos. If any condition appears unsafe or unsound, Santa will notify the responsible party and may leave the venue.
4. Santa will always ask the child (or adult) if they are comfortable sitting on his knee. PLEASE do not force a concerned child into a situation that he/she is not ready for. I promise, we can always get a "Santa Photobomb" that will be much better than tears and trauma.
5. Santa loves all animals, but not all animals enjoy six-and-a-half-feet of loud and bright JOLLY ELF in their home. Please have any animals secured away for Santa's visit. Once things have settled in, we can meet the pets and get pictures. NEVER just hand an animal to Santa. Always best to bring your pet up and sit next to Santa for a picture, then see if the animal can be handled by Santa. No one wants an incident. If Santa deems any condition "unsafe", I will leave the environment immediately.
6. Santa loves a party, and loves to see people enjoying themselves. But, if any illegal activity (specifically drugs) is present, or if persons at the event are inebriated, intoxicated, or just plain vulgar or belligerent, I will leave the event immediately. Please have water available for Santa and respect my sobriety.
7. Please keep reasonable decorum and respect. Santa can be "teased" and loves warm hugs, but there are limits.
8. I carry "Performers Insurance" and have an annual background check which can be verified by a neutral third party (IBRBS). But the best thing is to avoid any untoward or unsafe situation and/or to address issues at the time they may arise.
